A Grenadian morning favorite is a cup of cocoa tea, a blend of ground cocoa nibs, cinnamon, bayleaf & nutmeg
Cocoa begins with Theobroma Cacao tree. Pods from this tree are harvested when fully ripened. Unripened pods yield beans with low cocoa butter content and low sugar content. The natural sugars in cocoa beans fuel the fermentation process, which is responsible for much of the classic cocoa flavor.
Cacao refers to cacao beans that have not been roasted, what is called cocoa is made of beans that have been roasted.
Cocoa is a familiar ingredient, whether used for baking or to make hot chocolate
Cocoa ball can be stored in the pantry or refrigerator
Ingredients: organic cocoa nibs, organic cinnamon, organic bayleaf & organic nutmeg
Cocoa Tea Recipe
Place 1 cocoa balls in 3 cups of water. optional additions cinnamon or borden leaf. Bring to a boil until the cocoa dissolves.
Finish by adding milk or non-dairy milk alternatives plus sweetener to tast
